The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jehovah's Witnesses had their modern-day start in the 1870's. 

At first, they were called Bible Students. But in 1931 they adopted the Scriptural name Jehovah's Witnesses.

 Most congregations hold meetings in a Kingdom Hall. 

These are usually simple structures built by Witness volunteers. You will not see any images, crucifixes, or things like these at the Kingdom Hall. Expenses are paid for by voluntary donations.

Jehovah's Witnesses are best known for their door-to-door preaching, distribution of literature such as The Watchtower and Awake!, and for their refusal of military service and blood transfusions even in life-threatening situations.
They consider use of the name Jehovah—one of the common English-language pronunciations of the Tetragrammaton—vital to proper worship; they reject Trinitarianism, immortality of the soul, and hellfire, which they consider to be unscripted doctrines.
They do not observe celebrations such as Christmas, Easter or birthdays because of their perceived pagan origins.
Members commonly refer to their body of beliefs as "the Truth", and adherents consider themselves to be

St. Peter Claver Catholic Church 

is a very diverse and well-integrated parish of 500 families in Macon, GA

This African-American parish began in 1888 and was named St. Peter Claver in 1903, 

in honor of the Patron Saint of Negro Missions. The current school, convent, and rectory were built here after the parish moved from Pio Nono Avenue in 1913. The church was built in 1928. This was one of two campuses in Georgia funded by Mother Katherine Drexel (later canonized Saint Katherine Drexel), staffed by her Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (SBS), and built by Father Ignatius Lissner and the Society of African Missions Fathers (SMA). 

The SMA operated the parish from 1913-1970, and the SBS staffed the school from 1915-2003.

Why do many oppose Jehovah's Witnesses and tell not to study with them?

There was opposition to Jesus' preaching, and he said that his followers also would be opposed. When some were impressed with Jesus' teaching, religious opposer retorted: "You have not been misled also, have you? Not one of the rulers or of the Pharisees has put faith in him, has he?" (John 7:46-48; 15:20) Many who advise you not to study with the Witnesses are either uninformed or prejudiced. Study with the Witnesses and see for yourself whether your Bible understanding increases or not.
